Beth A. Hallinan

PULASKI – Beth A. Hallinan, 68, of Pulaski, passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2023. Beth was born in Oswego, on August 24, 1954, to the late Stanley and Aleatha (Naracon) Hallinan. Beth was a devoted daughter, and was her mothers best friend and caregiver for many years, after the death of her dad.

After graduating from High School, Beth went on to receive her Bachelors Degree from SUNY Oswego in 1976. She later earned her Masters Degree in 1991 as well as her CAS in Instructional Administration. Alpha Delta Kappa and Delta Kappa Gamma.

Beth had a long and successful career in education.  She retired after 35 years from Pulaski Academy Central School District, where she worked as both a classroom teacher and an Administrator. Not only did Beth love her career in education, but her life was also dedicated to community service.

She believed strongly in the importance of giving back and dedicated countless hours to many organizations and efforts. In 2013, she was a missionary to El Salvador for the Mission of Miracles, served 8 years on the standing committee for the Episcopal Diocese of CNY, and was the financial coordinator for Blessings in a Backpack, which serves more than 400 Oswego County Children.

She was a board member for (OCTA) Oswego County Teacher Center, an Oswego County Teachers board member, and was active in Cornell Cooperative Extension.  She was a member and past union president for NYSUT, as well as the Pulaski Retired Teachers Organization, and (RENY) Retired Educators of New York.

Beth was a trustee and past president of the Ladies Auxiliary BPOE 271, she was a board member of the Employees Federal Credit Union, and a member of the advisory committee for the Office for the Aging. Beth was also an active member of the Pulaski Lions Club where she served as the Historian as well as the Leo Club Liason.

She was a board member, secretary, and past president for 30 plus years at Nochsi/ConnectCare, and was also volunteered in Carrier Dome Medical, as well as a past EMT, Medic, and NOCA Ambulance.

Finally, Beth was a very active and devoted member of the Church of The Resurrection. She served multiple terms as a Vestry Member, was on the administration team, and the stewardship committee, and was a pastoral care member. She was also a Lay Eucharistic Minister, a Lay Eucharistic Visitor, a lector,  and a greeting/obligation bearer.

Beth is survived by her brother Gary and wife Terrey Hallinan of Oswego Town, her nephew Matthew, his wife Randie, and their children Alison, Jacen, Lillian, Ryan and Jaidyn Landphere, her niece Brittany, her husband Eric Woolworth and their children Zachary Hallinan and Taylar Clohecy, and her niece Heather and her husband Jose Alvarado, and children Kiera and Nathan Townsley, and Theia Alverado.

Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, from 3-6 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, May 18t at 10 a.m. at The Church of The Resurrection and burial will follow in Peck Cemetery. Donations can be made in Beths name to Blessings in a Backpack, Oswego Chapter, or the Church of the Resurrection.
