OSWEGO – Mrs. Betty B. Roy, 98, of Oswego, passed on February 10, 2023. Born in Oswego, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Beryl (LeRoy) Blum.
Betty worked at the Oswego Hospital for 40 years retiring in 1989. She worked in various positions including supervisor of admissions and outpatients at the Oswego Hospital for more than 40 years. She was a member of the Elks Auxillary and was an avid golfer and bowler. Betty loved to read and shop. She loved her family and adored being a grandmother.
Betty is survived by her children Cheryl L. (Peter) Banta, of Oswego, Mark W. Roy of Oswego, Carlene L. Cook, of Oswego, and Casey L. Wapen of Oswego. Also surviving are her brothers Jack Blum, Don Blum, and Charles Blum Jr., as well as her beloved grandchildren Peter Banta, Shawn Banta, Erin Leahy, Jason Roy, Mark Roy, Justin Cook, Shane Cook, and Ashlee Wapen, 10 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband Carl Roy in 1989, and her brothers William Blum and Jerry Blum and a son-in-law Joseph Cook.
Services will be held privately at Nelson Funeral Home and burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery. Arrangements are under the caring guidance of Nelson Funeral Home.
