Carmen Paul Mallia, 71, of Oswego, passed away on November 2, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Schenectady, he was the son of the late Edward and Annette (Maiuccoro) Mallia.
Paul worked at the family business, “Carmen Goody Pools”. He enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson, was an avid hunter, and was a devoted Buffalo Bills fan. A talented handyman, Paul could always be counted on to lend a helping hand. He also loved listening to 80s music and watching Christmas movies.
Above all, Paul adored his family and treasured the time he spent with his grandchildren, who lovingly called him “Papa Paul.” He was his grandson Jordan’s biggest fan at the racetrack and never missed an opportunity to cheer him on. Paul also had a special place in his heart for his beloved dog, Rocky, and cat, Rosie.
Paul is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Linda (Crowningshield); his stepdaughter, Amy (late Paul) Sullivan; his stepson, John (Chip) Starbuck; his grandchildren, Meghan (Jordan) Sullivan, Jordan Sullivan, and Laura (Andrew) Sullivan; his great-granddaughter, Natalie; his sisters, Susan Hooper (late Jim) and Connie (Gene) William; his cousins, Gary and Cindy Maiuccoro; his brother in law, Henry Crowningshield; longtime friends Jimmy and Diane Gibbs, Tomas Shaffer, John and Anne Starbuck, and Rena Crowningshield; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Paul was predeceased by his brother, Edward Mallia, and his in-laws, Pamela (Tom) Mott.
A Celebration of Life is being planned for a later date.
Arrangements are under the caring guidance of Nelson Funeral Home.
