Charles Blum Jr.

Charles Blum Jr., 83, of Oswego, passed away on August 15, 2024.

Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late Charles and Beryl (LeRoy) Blum Sr.

He worked for the United States Post Office as a Postal Clerk for 34 years, retiring in 1998.

He was a loyal Yankee’s fan, enjoyed the Green Bay Packers, avid bowler, and loved walking. He also enjoyed attending his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events.

Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Sondra (LeRoy) Blum, a daughter, Sue Ann (Ed) Slight of Oswego, a son, Charles Blum III, of Georgia, a brother, Donald Blum, five grandchildren, Matthew Slight, Jessica (Brian) Johnson, Spenser Thomas, Chandler (Kate) Blum, and Mattie Blum, a great-grandchild Jackson Johnson, many nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, William Blum, Jerry Blum, Jack Blum, and Betty Roy.

The family would like to thank the 3rd floor staff at the Oswego Hospital for their exceptional care.

Calling hours will be held 3-6 PM on Monday, August 19th at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 West Albany St. Oswego.

Funeral Services will be held 10 AM on Tuesday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.

Donations can be made to the St. Jude’s Foundation.

Arrangements are under the caring guidance of Nelson Funeral Home.
