FULTON – Claudette Smith, 91, of Fulton, passed away on September 11, 2026.
Born in Fulton, NY, on September 27, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Cecile (Loiselle) Huard.
She worked at General Electric, Birdseye, and then Nestlé for many years.
She was a Member of the Fulton Women’s Club, where she coordinated the Craft Fair for many years. She enjoyed crafts, especially knitting. Her family and friends were gifted many of her handmade Christmas stockings, baby sweater sets, and dishcloths.
She and Pat enjoyed many summers spent at their camp on the St. Lawrence River. She will be remembered for her traditional Christmas morning breakfasts, where she and Pat served over 100 family members and friends for many years.
Claudette is survived by her children Michael (Rebecca) Smith, Kim (Jeff) Johnson, Kelly (Jay) LeVea, Kathleen (Michael) Amodie, and Jim (Deborah Duger) Smith; daughter-in-law Mary Beth Smith; and a sister, Marcia Virginia, as well as 18 beloved grandchildren, 25 cherished great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Patrick Sr., her son, Patrick J. “Scooter” Smith Jr., her siblings, Joyce McIntyre, Sonny Huard, and Margo Huard.
Calling hours will be held 4-7 PM, Wednesday, September 16th, at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany St., Oswego.
A Catholic Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday at Holy Trinity Parish, Fulton. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Fulton.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Women’s Club of Fulton, C/O Carol Dexter, 2 Lounsbury Dr., Fulton, NY 13069.
