OSWEGO – Clyde L. Chamberlain, 86, of Oswego passed away on April 3, 2024, with his family by his side.
Born in Gloversville, he was the son of Carl and Thelma (Frank) Chamberlain.
Clyde was a proud Navy veteran, having served from 1955-1958.
He met the love of his life, Mary Ann (Ganster) and they married in 1958. in 1967, they relocated their young family to Oswego where they raised their four children. Clyde worked and retired as a Laborer for the Local Laborer Union #633 after many years. He was a jack of all trades and could be counted on to help with anything his family needed.
Clyde was a sports enthusiast. He enjoyed golfing and bowling and was a huge NY Mets fan. He especially loved watching his grandkid’s games and was their biggest fan, never missing a game. Clyde was also a longstanding member of the Oswego Lions Club and a volunteer at the Oswego Hospital for over 25 years.
Clyde is survived by his loving children Jeffrey (Christina) Chamberlain, Valerie Mayer, Stacy Kearns, and Dina (Jay) Peterson, and, his beloved grandchildren Matthew Mayer (Flor), Kristy Mayer (Eric Schrader), Gregory Mayer, Kevin Kearns (Emily), Michaela Kearns (Andrew Pascuzzi), Ryan Kearns (Mari Caminini), Abigail Chamberlain, Zachary Chamberlain, Emily Peterson, and William Peterson. He also leaves behind four great- grandchildren Madison, Ezra, Benson, and Dylan. Clyde is also survived his brother Ronald (Bette) Chamberlain of Vero Beach, FL, and his brother-in-law James Britt of Guilderland, NY.
In addition to his parents, Clyde was preceded in death by his wife Mary Ann in 2010 and his sister Dawn Britt in 1999.
A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held at 11 am on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at St. Mary Parish and Shrine, Oswego. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Oswego Hosptial at, Oswego Health Foundation 110 W. 6th St. Oswego, NY 13126,
