Denise Munger

FULTON – Denise Munger, 68, of Fulton passed away peacefully on April 10, 2024, at St. Joseph’s Hospital surrounded by her family.

Denise was born in Syracuse on December 15th, 1955 to to Vernon and Fern (Cronk) Gebo. The family later moved to Fulton where Denise would graduate from G. Ray Bodley High School in 1973. During her teen years she belonged to Gauchos Drum and Bugle Corps which in her adult years, she would speak fondly of her memories of that time.
She worked for many years in food services for the Phoenix Central School District.
Denise was a proud mother and grandmother who took pride in the accomplishments and successes of her children and grandchildren. She loved to have fun, laugh and visit with friends. Denise’s hobbies included baking, quilting and viewing wildlife. She looked forward to weekend roadtrip adventures with her lifelong best friend, her sister Loretta, more affectionately known as “Sis.” Denise also enjoyed several trips out west to visit her daughter and son-in-law where many lasting memories were made. Her appreciation for wildlife of all kind included watching hummingbirds and cardinals from her front window to her fascination with the wild buffalo she saw when visiting her daughter.
Denise is survived by her loving children Adam (Shalene Lando) Munger of Fulton and Charnel (Robert) Banik of South Dakota. She leaves behind her grandchildren Nevaeh Lando and Adam Munger Jr., as well as her sister Loretta (Jesse) Shue and brother Oliver (Penny) Gebo. Denise is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to call from 4-6pm on Tuesday, April 16th at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 West Albany Street Oswego. A service will follow at 6pm.
