OSWEGO – Donald Leon Nichols Sr., 91, of Oswego, passed away on April 21, 2024.
Born in Danbury, Connecticut, he was the son of the late Leon and Marion (Howyou) Nichols.
He worked construction for Dosch King in Newtown, Connecticut. Deer hunting was Don’s passion and he enjoyed raising chickens for many years. He enjoyed spending time in Vermont on the family’s property, and loved his family.
Surviving are his children Ruth (Harry) Todice Sr. and Cindy Hedman, both of Oswego, and Donald (Nanette) Nichols Jr. of Port Charlotte, FL. He also leaves behind his sister Lois Reed, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his sister Nancy Brown, and his brother LeRoy Nichols.
Burial will be in Lands End Cemetery in Newtown, Connecticut on Thursday, April 25th. Arrangements are under the caring guidance of Nelson Funeral Home.
