Elizabeth A. “Buffy” Moshier

OSWEGO – Elizabeth A. “Buffy” Moshier, 88, passed away on September 6, 2026. A beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, she leaves behind a lifetime of love and treasured memories.

Born April 27, 1938, in Volney, New York, she was the daughter of the late William J. O’Connor and Lucy (Coe) O’Connor. She graduated at the top of her class from Hannibal High School. Buffy was well known for owning and operating Buffy’s Bakery. She also worked for many years in the Traffic Department at Nestlé in Fulton, New York. In her free time, she enjoyed golfing, bowling, and volunteering her many talents to her community and church. Buffy was also an accomplished watercolor painter, a talent that brought her much joy.

Buffy is survived by her son, Timothy Moshier of Fulton, New York; her daughter, Elizabeth Moshier of Fair Haven, New York; and her son, Matthew (Marcia) Moshier of Wake Forest, North Carolina; her sister Cynthia (Thomas) Hirsh, and sister in law Lorinda O’Connor. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Benjamin, Susan, Meredith, Noah, Thomas, and Allison, her great-grandson, James.

Buffy was predeceased by her son, Bernard H. “Mo” Moshier; her husband, Bernard H. “Jack” Moshier; and her siblings, James O’Connor, Harold O’Connor, Charles O’Connor, Thomas O’Connor, Ida Stevens, Lorraine Waldron, and Ernestine Allen.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Hannibal, New York. Burial will follow at Sterling Center Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, September 18, 2026, at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 West Albany Street, Oswego, New York.

Donations in Buffy’s memory may be made to the Sterling Historical Society. Buffy will be remembered for her kindness, faith, creativity, and devotion to her family and community. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
