OSWEGO – Helen A. Jackson, 93, of Oswego, passed away on June 27, 2025, with her family by her side.

Born in Dunkirk, NY, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Helen (Malkowski) Kucmierz.

Helen married the love of her life, the late Stanley Jackson, on August 8, 1953. Helen was a head cook for the Oswego City School District for many years. She enjoyed word find puzzles, nature, rides by the lake, and getting ice cream. Helen loved to cook and bake sharing her food with her family. She was the past president for the Polish Legion of American Veterans – Ladies Auxiliary. She was a choir member, Rosary Society member and Altar Society member at St. Stephen’s Church.

Helen is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Jackson of Oswego, Janet (James) Fiacco of Verona, and Virginia (Edward) Roesch of Liverpool. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Steven (Svenja) Syrell, Jenna (Jaime) Fiacco-Velasquez, Jared (Shelby) Fiacco, Edward (Pooja) Roesch, and Eric (Brittany) Roesch, and great-grandchildren Emmie and Addie Syrell, and Mason, Laila, and Luke Roesch. Helen is also survived by her sister Jane Steffan.

In addition to her parents and husband, Helen is predeceased by her siblings John, Thomas, Casimer, and Aloisius Kucmierz, Eleanor Krochmal, Josephine Lis, and Wanda Graminski.

Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, from 4-6 pm at Nelson Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Stephen’s Church, 140 Niagara St, Oswego, NY, on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at 11 am with burial at St. Peter’s Cemetery.

Donations can be made in Helen’s name to the Hospice of CNY or Christ the Good Shepherd Church in Oswego.

Arrangements are under the caring guidance of Nelson Funeral Home.
