OSWEG) – Imogene LeFort, 98, of Oswego, passed away on May 10th, 2024.
Born in Johnstown, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Hazel (Powell) McCreary.
Imogene worked as a Financial Secretary for the Maryland School District. She also proudly volunteered at the White House for 14 years throughout the terms of Presidents Bill Clinton, George H. Bush, and George W. Bush.
She was a member of the local Red Hat Society as well as the Granby Seniors. Imogene also loved to shop and travel.
Surviving is her daughter Janina (Benjamin) King, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James Leo LeFort, two brothers James Melvin LeFort and John Brian LeFort, and two sisters, Betty Mae Snellings and Audrey Miller.
Graveside Services will be held at St. Mary Cemetery in Strykersville, NY, on Wednesday, May 15th at 11 am.
Arrangements are under the caring guidance of Nelson Funeral Home.
