Jane Frances Dona

OSWEGO – Jane Frances Dona, 78, of Oswego, passed away on October 31, 2025.

Born and raised in Oswego, Jane was the daughter of the late Philip F. and Elisabeth J. (Stacy) Reitz.

Family was everything to Jane. Growing up, she loved her childhood and her immediate and extented family. She had close loving relationships with her cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents and had many memories of frequent walks through the neighborhood to visit with friends and family.  Jane graduated from Oswego High School in 1965.  She married her husband Carl in St. Peter Church in 1968 and raised their four children in Oswego.  Jane worked and retired from Loretto in 2009.  She was a Yankees fanatic, rarely missed a game, and especially loved Mickey Mantle, Aaron Judge, and Giancarlo Stanton.  Jane also enjoyed music.  Elvis, Glen Campbell, and The Rolling Stones were among her favorites.  She adored her family and was a kind and loving wife, mom, and grandmother.  Jane cherished time with her family, loved watching her grandchildren grow up and supporting them at their sporting events, and always looked forward to her trips to the beaches of South Carolina with them.

Jane is survived by her loving children, Carl P. (Wendy) Dona of Fulton, Brian J. (Tammy) Dona of South Carolina, Heather A. Dona, and Amy L. Dona both of Norfolk, NY, grandchildren Steven Deland, Marisa (Dona) Doupe, Elizabeth Dona, Preston Dona, and Conor Dona, great- grandchild Peyton Doupe, and siblings Sandra Burns of Tullahoma, Debra Reitz of Pulaski, and Philip Reitz of Oswego.

In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her husband Carl E. Dona in 2000, her sister Brenda Valley in 2007, and her granddaughter Brittany Dona in 1995.
