Jeanne L. Sweeting

OSWEGO – Jeanne L. Sweeting, 53, of Oswego, passed away on February 23, 2025.

Born in Oswego, she is the daughter of Robert (Sheila) Sweeting and Janet (Sheldon) Sweeting.

Jeanne loved the beach and sunbathing, and she enjoyed time at the casino.  She thought the world of her family and cherished the time spent with her grandchildren. She took great pleasure in caring for her family and was lovingly referred to as “Big  Mama”. Jeanne’s grandchildren were her whole world, and not a day passed when she didn’t see or talk to them.

Jeanne is survived by her children Justin (Jenna) Sweeting and Brian (Desiree Bies) Sweeting, her grandchildren Maylin, Lyza, and Finn, and her siblings Robert (Tammy) Sweeting, Joan Bennett, and Janet (Brian) Clyne, as well as several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews that she loved like her children.

Jeanne was preceded in death by her mom’s significant other Joseph Delisle.

Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday, March 2, 2025, from 4-7, at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany Street, Oswego.  A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held on March 3rd at 10 am at St. Mary of the Assumption Parish and Shrine, 107 W 7th Street.  Arrangements are under the caring guidance of Nelson Funeral Home.
