Jimmie L. Zeigler, 89, of Oswego, passed away on December 29, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Chambers, Nebraska, he was the son of the late John Henry and Nellie (Harris) Zeigler.
Jimmie was a Paratrooper in the US Army from 1953-1958.
Jimmie married his wife, of 68 years, Mary Lou and they raised their daughter Jennifer. He was a talented self-employed carpenter who also worked in carpentry at Oswego State for many years. In his free time, he enjoyed woodworking and crafts. Jimmie loved his cat Garfield and granddog Sonny, and he adored his family. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Jimmie is survived by his loving wife Mary Lou, daughter Jennifer (late Kevin) Ferrara, grandchildren Corey (Anne) Ferrara, and Nicholas (Amanda) Ferrara, and great-grandchildren Jackson and Maxwell. He also leaves behind his siblings Jay (Lynda) Zeigler and Charlotte (Ken) Wood, as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Jimmie was preceded in death by his siblings Jack Zeigler, Jean Zeigler, and Nita Westman, and his son-in-law Kevin Ferrara.
A funeral service will held on Saturday, January 4, 2024, at 11 am at the Journey of Faith Church, 7721 State Route 104 West. There will be a gathering time from 10-11 am, at the church before the service. Burial will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery, Clinton NY.
