John Tynan

OSWEGO – John Tynan, 91, of Oswego, passed away on January 1, 2024.

Born in Red Creek, he was the son of the late Harry and Edith (Grant) Tynan.

John was a graduate of Oswego High School.   He served in the US ARMY during the Korean War from 1952-1954.

John worked for Centro for more than 25 years as a bus driver.  He was a member of the American Legion. John was an outdoorman, and avid hunter, and he loved spending time at his hunting camp in Adams.

John is survived by his sister Carol Carroll, as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother Thomas “Harpe” Tynan, Lester Tynan, Patrick Tynan, Harry Tynan Sr., and Roger Tynan, and his sisters Peg Tynan, Ethelyn Tynan and Gertrude Tynan.

John’s arrangements are pending and under the caring guidance of Nelson Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery, Scriba.  In place of flowers, donations can be made in John’s name to the Veteran’s.
