Lucy Lorraine Waldron

OSWEGO – Lucy Lorraine Waldron, 95, of Oswego, passed peacefully on October 8, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in North Volney, she was the daughter of the late William and Lucy (Coe) O’Connor.

Lorraine was a Branch Manager for Community Bank in Hannibal for many years.  She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who always put her family first. She was very involved with her community, volunteering her time for various organizations including having served as president of the PTA, den mother for the Cub Scouts, as well as being an active member in her church, the VFW Aux, and a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 658 Aux..  Lorraine also enjoyed the game of golf and was very creative with a talent for baking and designing beautiful wedding cakes. She adored her family and was always active and involved in her children’s and grandchildren’s lives.

Lorraine is survived by her loving children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren Raymond (Nancy) and sons Oscar, Enrique, and Nicolas of Costa Rica and daughter Tzeitel (Anielka) of Maine, Carl of North Carolina and sons Erin of Washington DC, Adam (Kayla) (Olivia, Isla) of North Carolina, James (Kim) of Fair Haven, sons Shamus of Sterling, Travis of Florida and daughter Breanna (Logan) of Tennessee, Granddaughters Kristen (Paisley, Amelia) of Idaho and Danielle of Florida, Mary Elizabeth of Sterling, and Eric (Maria) of New Jersey and sons Jacob of Washington DC, Peter of Colorado and daughter Emily of Colorado.  She also leaves behind two sisters Elizabeth (Jack) Moshier and Cynthia (Tom) Hirsh as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband Weslie, daughters Lorraine Mary and infant Cynthia Loie; brothers Charles, Thomas, James, Harold, and Bill Jr. O’Connor; and sisters Ernestine Allen and Ida Mary Stevens.

Mary, from the hearts of your four brothers, and mom and dad’s grandchildren, we want to thank you for your dedicated, compassionate, and loving care you provided for our parents.

 

Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, October 11, 2024, from 4-7 pm at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany Street, Oswego.  A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held at 11 am on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Our Lady of the Rosary in Hannibal.  Burial will follow in Springbrook Cemetery in Fair Haven.  Arrangements are under the caring guidance of Nelson Funeral Home.
