Matthew P. Torres

OSWEGO – Matthew P. Torres, 34, of Oswego, passed on October 30, 2023.
Born in Hesperia, California, he was the son of Hector and Patricia Torres.

Matthew served in the United States Army from 2013-2019. He worked as an Auxiliary Operator for Oswego Harbor Power.
Matthew loved to cook and enjoyed spending time at the beach. Had a great mechanical aptitude with a keen interest in building and understanding how all things worked. He had dreams of one day becoming an engineer. Matthew was an exceptional husband and father who loved his family and always put them first. He worked hard to always be sure his family was well taken care of. Above all, he was most proud to be Olivia’s dad. Matthew was also a great friend to many. He will be deeply missed by those whose lives he touched.

Matthew is survived by his loving wife Tiffany (Tesoriero) Torres and daughter Olivia Torres. He also leaves behind his parents Hector and Patricia Torres, his sisters Amanda (Josh) Loucks and Jessica (Brandon) Nottingham, and his inlaws John “Jay” and Lisa Tesoriero.

Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, November 6, 2023, from 4-6 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 West Albany Street. A celebration of life will follow at 6. Donations can be made to Matthew’s daughter Olivia Tesoriero Torres in the care of Lisa Tesoriero 261 Maiden Lane Road Oswego NY 13126. Arrangements are under the caring guidance of Nelson Funeral Home.
