Michael J. Woolworth,

OSWEGO – Michael J. Woolworth, 69, of Oswego, passed away on July 20, 2025.

Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late Bernard S. Woolworth Sr. and Lois A. (Pullen) Woolworth.

Michael was a custodian for a Jewish Temple while living in California.  He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, and he was a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys and NASCAR.  Michael was very social, enjoyed time with family and friends, and loved to make people laugh.

Michael is survived by his daughter Jennifer M. Contreras, grandchildren Mia Contreras, Matthew Contreras, and Jacob Gonzalez, his brothers Bernard Jr. (Angelina)Woolworth of Granby and Gary (Tammy) Woolworth of Oswego, and his sisters Deanna (Thomas Sr.) of Pulaski, Sheryl (Jake) Hunt of Norfolk, VA, and Lynda (Dale) Alford of Oswego, as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his brother, Timothy Woolworth, and sisters Bonnie Matott, Brenda Culver, and Melody Crouch.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at 3:00 pm, with Pastor Melody Rudd at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 West Albany Street, Oswego.  Arrangements are under the caring guidance of Nelson Funeral Home.
