Nathalie J. Burns (Gibson)

OSWEGO – Nathalie J. Burns (Gibson), 92, daughter of the late Robert and M. Addie Gibson, passed away on December 9, 2024. Nathalie was born in Ogdensburg, NY., and was raised in Hammond, NY, which she referred to as “God’s Country” until they moved to Oswego.

Nathalie graduated from Oswego High School in 1951. She married Gerald Burns in 1953, raised their three children, and enjoyed 33 years of marriage before he passed away in 1991.

Nathalie worked at General Electric and Flexo Wire and retired from Auxillary Food Service at SUNY Oswego. She volunteered at several organizations after retirement. She was a member of the Scriba Senior Citizens and loved attending Grace Lutheran Church. Nathalie was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother, and she enjoyed going to all of their activities.

She is survived by her three loving children: Paul J. Burns (Debbi) of Oswego, Nathalie J. Dingman (Brian) of Leesburg, Fl., and Kathleen J. Cummins (Duane) of Oswego. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren Michael Dingman (Nancy), Holly Boni (Shawn), Jillian Cummins, Nicholas Cummins (Larissa), and Kerrigan Butler (John), as well as seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Nathalie was preceded in death by her grandson Gregory Dingman in 2014.

Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, from 1-3 pm at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany Street.  A funeral service will follow at 3 pm.
