Nicole Renee Martin

OSWEGO – Nicole Renee Martin, 54, of Florida, passed away unexpectedly on August 28, 2026.

Born on November 6, 1971, and raised in Oswego, Nicole was the daughter of David J. Martin and the late Diane (Frey) Martin.

Nicki graduated from Oswego High School in 1990 and from the State University of New York at Oswego in 1994. She was a successful real estate agent in Orange County, Florida, for many years. She also worked part-time at Harry P. Leu Gardens, a 50-acre botanical oasis in Orlando, where she could surround herself with all the beauty and glory of nature.

Nicki was an absolute beauty, inside and out. She was a true-blue friend, and if you were in her circle, you knew how deeply she cared. Her smile could light up a room, and her laughter was contagious. She loved her animals and any animals she happened upon, and she truly enjoyed being surrounded by nature.

Nicki loved walks on Gray Road and traveling, especially to the Costa Rican rainforest. She cherished her trips home to Oswego, where she could reconnect with old friends and make new memories. She loved her home and yard and took great pride in decorating and beautifying her spaces.

Nicki was kind, caring, smart, funny, spiritual, and thoughtful. She was truly one of a kind and will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to have her in their lives.

Nicki is survived by her loving father, David J. Martin; her brother, Chad Martin, both of Minetto; her dog Willow, many aunts, uncles, and cousins who adored her; and the many cherished friends whose lives she touched.

Nicki was preceded in death by her mother and close friend, Diane, in 2020, as well as her maternal grandparents Betty and August Paternoster and paternal grandparents Julie and Joseph Martin.

Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, September 26, 2026, from Noon to 2 pm with a funeral service to follow, at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany Street.
