Patricia Burke Delia

OSWEGO – Patricia Burke Delia, 73, of Oswego, NY, passed away on Sunday, August 31, surrounded by her family.

Born in Lyons, NY, on January 21, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Mary (Dunning) Burke. Pat carried with her a lifelong love of learning, movement, and family. After graduating from SUNY Oswego in 1974 with a degree in Education, she dedicated 37 years to teaching elementary school in the Lyons, Mexico, and Oswego school districts.

In her younger years, Pat was an avid runner. She once won Syracuse’s Mountain Goat Run and ran a 3:04 marathon – achievements that reflected her energy and determination. She also passed along that same active, competitive spirit to her children.

Pat is survived by her husband of 46 years, Stanley Delia, her four children, Abby (Josh) Molinari, Ben (Sarah) Delia, Bonnie Delia, and Liz (Steve) Delia, and her granddaughter, Prim, who brought her endless joy.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary of the Assumption Parish & Shrine, 103 W. 7th St., Oswego, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Preston Robert Tisch Brian Tumor Center at Duke University.

Pat gave freely to her family, friends, and community. She will be deeply missed and joyfully remembered.
