SACKETS HARBOR – Patrick J. O’Leary, 74, of Sackets Harbor passed surrounded by his loving family on January 11, 2024.
Born in San Diego CA, he was the son of the late Donald and Joanne (Mazucco) O’Leary.
Patrick was a proud veteran, having served in the US Navy from 1968-1974. He loved his country, had a great appreciation for the military and was very patriotic.
Patrick worked as a licensed electrician and then later as an auto mechanic.
He was the ultimate outdoorsman. He enjoyed boating, and he was an avid fisherman and hunter. Most of all Patrick loved his family. He loved spending time with them and making memories. He will be missed dearly.
Patrick is survived by his loving wife Debra A. (Skellen) O’Leary and daughter Maryellen Kristine (Paul) Sanford. He also leaves behind his adoring grandsons who called him “Pa,” Riley Brady and Parker Sanford, his brother Michael (Elaine) O’Leary, and sister Darlene (David) Gallacher, as well as his godchildren, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Patrick was preceded in death by his brothers William O’Leary and Donald O’Leary.
Per Patrick’s wishes, there will be no services. The family would like to thank the caring staff at Pontiac Nursing Home, especially Pita, Sammy, and Kelly. Arrangements are under the caring guidance of Nelson Funeral Home.
