OSWEGO – Paul A. Sullivan, 58, of Oswego passed away with his wife and family by his side on September 29, 2024.
Born in Oswego, Paul was the son of James O. and Alice (McCaffrey) Sullivan.
Paul worked for the Oswego City School District for more than 34 years as a senior custodian. He was also a proud co-owner of the Kring General Store in Alexandria Bay.
He enjoyed landscaping and was always there to help a neighbor or friend mow their lawn or plow in the winter. Paul enjoyed the races at the Oswego Speedway. He loved his family cottage and looked forward to spending his summers at Kring Point. He loved being outdoors and enjoyed jet skiing, boating, fishing, and also snowmobiling with his son. He was a sports enthusiast and a huge animal lover. He loved his family and was a caring and devoted husband and father. He looked forward to “old man” coffee hour, loved scratch-offs, and loved to have fun with his family and many friends.
Paul is survived by his loving wife of 28 years Amy (Starbuck) Sullivan, and children Meghan Sullivan, Jordan Sullivan, and Laura Sullivan (Andrew Neacosia). Also surviving are his siblings Kathleen Wilson, James S. Sullivan, Elizabeth (Paul) Dinan, John Sullivan, Mike Sullivan (Chad Whelsky), Tricia Branch (Craig Bundy), brothers-in-law John Starbuck (Chip Goodwin) and Eugene Chylinski, mother-in-law Linda (Paul) Mallia, father-in-law John (Anne) Starbuck, loved dogs Cece, Beau, Gus, and Benny the beagle, and cat Finn, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents James O. and Alice Sullivan, his brother Timothy Sullivan, and his sister Terry Chylinski.
Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, October 5, 2024, from 1-4 with a funeral service to follow at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany Street. Donations can be made to the Oswego Animal Shelter, 621 East Seneca Street, in Paul’s name. Arrangements are under the caring guidance of Nelson Funeral Home.
