
OSWEGO – Raymond C. Oleyourryk, 88, of Oswego, passed away on December 26, 2024.
Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late Walter and Mary (Sekula) Oleyourryk.
Raymond graduated from Oswego High School and worked as a crane operator at Alcan. Raymond loved working on his farm, tending to his farm animals, and working in his gardens. Farming was a passion that he enjoyed and loved to share. Sharing his farm-fresh eggs, garlic, and vegetables with others brought him great joy. He also enjoyed camping on Lake Ontario. Raymond was strong in his faith, and he loved his family dearly. He will forever be remembered for his love, support, kindness, words of wisdom, and teaching of great life lessons.
Raymond is survived by his son Raymond (Venus) Oleyourryk Jr. of South Carolina, his grandsons Ryan (Andrew Williamson) Oleyourryk and Joshua (Diamond) Oleyourryk, and great-granddaughter Myelle. He also leaves behind his brother Jack “Shorty” Oleyourryk and sister Patricia Bocko, as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Irene (Helmlinger) Oleyourryk in 2023.
A committal service will be held at 11 am on Friday, January 3, 2024, in St. Peter Cemetery, All Saints Mausoleum. Family and friends may gather at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 West Albany Street, from 10 to 10:45 am before the service.
