Richard L. Norris

OSWEGO – Richard L. Norris, 76, of Hannibal, passed away unexpectedly on July 19, 2026.

Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late Louis S. and Mabel (Kandt) Norris.

Rich worked as a carpenter for Local 747 & 277 for more than 50 years before retiring.  He was also a proud US Army Veteran.  Rich loved music and enjoyed playing the guitar.  He also loved building model airplanes.  Rich was a loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather, who loved nothing more than being with family.  He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and always looked forward to their family trips to Darien Lake.

Rich is survived by his loving wife Bonnie and children Regina (John) Aston, Rich (Christine) Norris, and Jeremy (Melissa) Norris.  He also leaves behind his sister Melinda (Jim) Gurney, seven grandchildren, Teaghan Aston, Trista Norris, John Aston, Richie Norris, Megan Norris, Ashlee Norris, and Aidan Norris, two great-grandchildren, Emeri and Oakley, and his cat Precious, as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Rich was preceded in death by his brothers Louie Norris Sr. and Ronald Norris.

Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 3-6 pm at Nelson Funeral Home.  Graveside services will be held on Friday the 24th at 11 am in Minetto Cemetery.
