Richard P. Thibodeau, 77, of the town of Scriba, passed away on January 2, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones.
Born in Fitchburg MA, he was the son of the late Paul Joseph and Florence (Gowell) Thibodeau.
Richard was a veteran having served in the Marines. He was a house painter with the local Painter’s Union. Richard was a talented carpenter and handyman who could be counted on to fix anything. He loved anything sci-fi, Gunsmoke, and old country movies. He was also a cornhole champ and enjoyed playing horseshoes. Above all, he was a family man who loved his time with his children and grandbabies. He was a loving dad to 6, a father figure to many, and Uncle Dick to all who knew him.
Richard is survived by his devoted wife Teresa (Wallis) Thibodeau and children Chris (Lisa) Hardin, Melissa (Scott) Richardson, Nichole (Shawn) Talbot, Amanda (Eric) Gregory, Richard L. Thibodeau, John (Amy) Crawford. He also leaves behind brothers Henry Boivin Jr. and John Boivin Sr., 18 adored grandchildren several nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his brother Gary J. Thibodeau and his sisters Joanne Barlow and Judy Greene.
Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Tuesday, January 9th from 4-6 pm. Arrangements are under the caring guidance of Nelson Funeral Home.
