Richard “Rick” Eric Bruce

OSWEGO – Richard “Rick” Eric Bruce, age 64, passed away unexpectedly on June 30, 2026. He was born on May 14th, 1962, in Oswego, NY, to the late Charles William Bruce Sr. and Ruth Elizabeth Bruce.

Rick was a compassionate man with a big heart. He was hard-working and loyal to his family, friends, and long-time employer. Rick worked most of his life for the Morley Family through Ontario Amusements. Throughout the many years traveling with the amusement company, he built many friendships with people who became like family. Rick also loved the NY Giants, NASCAR, local racing at the Oswego Speedway, and building model cars.

He is survived by his siblings, June Copper, Charles (Darlene) Bruce, Robert (Patricia) Bruce, Sandra Maschino, Jackie (Lynn) Gainey, Shelley Pierce (Butch), and Frank (Jackie) Bruce, as well as many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Bruce Sr and Ruth Bruce; his brothers, Eric Bruce and William Bruce; and his brother-in-law, Larry Maschino.

The Bruce Family would like to extend a special thank you to the Morley Family for loving Rick as one of their own all of these years.

Calling hours will take place at Nelson Funeral Home in Oswego, NY on Wednesday, July 22nd from 1:00-3:00 pm. A burial service will take place immediately following at Minetto Cemetery. Arrangements are under the caring guidance of Nelson Funeral Home.
