FULTON – Richard Stephenson, 74, of Minetto, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on July 18, 2024, after a brief illness.
Born in Fulton, he was the son of the late Robert and Lorene (Pardue) Stephenson.
Richard owned and operated Stephenson Accounting and Tax Service in Minetto for 53 years.
He enjoyed spending time with his family as well as working on and restoring old cars, especially his MGBs. Richard was an avid fan of the NY Yankees and the Buffalo Bills. He was also a lover of animals, especially his dogs Bailey & Teddy and cats Daisy & Sneakers. He also enjoyed taking trips with his motorcycle and spending time in Florida.
The pride and joy of his life were his daughter Amy and his grandson Carter who affectionately called him “Bopi”.
Surviving are his daughter Amy Stephenson and Grandson Carter. He is also survived by his step mother Kay Stephenson, step brother Frank Williams, and Aunt Teresa Guile as well as several cousins.
In addition to his parents, Richard was predeceased by his wife Kathleen Stephenson, his brother Fr. Robert “Bob” Stephenson, and Uncle Ronald Guile.
Calling hours will be held 4-6 PM on Monday, July 22nd at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany Street, Oswego. A Catholic Mass will be held on Tuesday, July 23rd at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Minetto at 10 AM.
In lieu of flowers, to remember Richard in a special way the family would like to request that donations, in his name, be made to Oswego County Humane Society.
