Richard V. Ketcham

FULTON – Richard V. Ketcham, 85, of Oswego Town, passed away at home, on April 4, 2025.

Born in Fulton, he was the son of the late James and Marietta (Guernsey) Ketcham.

Richard served in the US Army from 1955 to 1958. He worked for Oswego Castings for 11 years and retired from Alcan, where he worked from 1973 to 1990.

Richard had a passion for cars. He owned and operated his body shop, building custom cars and fixing the wrecked ones. He was also a classic car enthusiast. Richard had a strong faith and was a longtime member of the Port City Faith Assembly of God Church. He loved his wife and family and was a caring husband, father, and grandfather.

Richard is survived by his loving wife Vonda (Redinger) Ketcham, his son Richard V. (Sunshine) Ketcham, grandchildren Josh R. (Taylor), Christopher M., Franklin D., Jadon E., Rachel N., and Samara, brothers Donald, Ronald, and Gary Ketcham, and sisters Jean Anderson, Beverly Roach, and Diane Romano, several great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his daughter Diana M. Powell.

Funeral Services will be held at 5 PM on Friday, April 11th at Port City Faith Assembly of God Church, 436 W. 5th St. Oswego. There are no calling hours.  Burial will be at a later date in Pulaski Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the caring guidance of Nelson Funeral Home.
