OSWEGO – Robert Dashner of Oswego passed away on August 13, 2024, at the age of 94.
Born in Syracuse, he was the son of the late Allen C. and Helen E. (Barker) Dashner.
Robert was employed at Alcan as a scheduler. Robert enjoyed several sports. This love of sports led him to become president of the Oswego Booster Club. He was also inducted into the Oswego Softball Hall of Fame in 1990. In addition to his love of sports, Robert loved to travel and spend time with his family. He was also a lifetime member of the Oswego Elks Club.
Robert is survived by his three daughters, Rhonda (Marty) Stangle of Spencer, NY, Karen (Fred) Ohman of Camillus, and Joanne (Mike Gray) Kessler of Delmar. He also leaves behind nine grandchildren Shaun Sullivan, Jamie Ohman, Brian Ohman, Cody Kessler, Tyler Kessler, Alex Kessler, Andrew Kessler, Tyler Stangle, and Josh Stangle, five great-grandchildren with one on the way, as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife R. Dawn.
Friends and family are invited to call on Monday, September 16, 2024, from 9-11 A.M. with a funeral service to follow at Nelson Funeral Home. Burial will be at Oswego Town Rural Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made, in Robert’s name, to a charity of one’s choice.
