OSWEGO COUNTY – Ronald John Norris, age 73, of Hannibal, New York, passed away on January 2, 2026.
Ron was a devoted family man whose love for his family was at the center of his life. He was happiest when spending time with those he loved, listening to music, enjoying the comfort of home, and caring for his Great Pyrenees, Bear, whom he loved dearly and who brought him constant companionship and joy. He had a gentle heart, a steady presence, and a quiet strength that will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Ron worked for many years at Miller’s Brewing Company until its closing in 1994 and was most recently employed by Keurig Dr Pepper. He also proudly served in the United States Army. Throughout his life, Ron carried a strong work ethic and a deep sense of responsibility and pride.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Mable and Louis Norris; his brother, Louie Norris; his daughter, Crystal Norris; and his beloved wife of over 50 years, Dawn Marie (Farnsworth) Norris.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Amanda Reed (Michael); his cherished grandchildren, Gracelyn and Aiden Reed; his brother, Richard Norris (Bonnie); his sister, Melinda Gurney (Jim); and several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews who will miss him dearly.
Ron shared a particularly close and special bond with his nephew, Jeff, who held a very meaningful place in his life. The family is also deeply grateful for the love and support shown by Jeff’s wife, Ewelina, and by the extended family during his passing.
Ron’s legacy lives on through the love he gave so freely to his family and the many memories they will carry with them always.
Family and friends are invited to call from 3-5 pm on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 West Albany Street, Oswego. Burial will be held in the Spring at Hannibal Village Cemetery, on a date to be announced. Arrangements are under the caring guidance of Nelson Funeral Home.
