OSWEGO – Rosario James Murabito, 95, of Oswego, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2026.

A lifelong resident of Oswego, Rosario was the son of the late Rosario and Catherine (Russo) Murabito.

He served in the Air Force during the Korean War and was a proud US Veteran.

Rosario worked at Alcan as Maintenance Foreman for 25 years before retiring. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking, crafting, bowling, fishing, and his Thursday get togethers with his buddies. . He enjoyed traveling the Country, cherished his wife, was a kind and loving father to his four daughters, a caring brother, and adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  He was loved by all who had the honor of knowing him, and he will be greatly missed.

Rosario is survived by his loving daughters Roxanne Cummins of Fulton, Cynthia (Tony) Cappelletti of Phoenix, Susie (Cliff) Prevost of Canada, and Theresa (Wade) Hinckley of Tennessee; his loving companion Anne Bennett, 12 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren,

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Helen “Susie” Murabito, and his sister Carmella V. Woods in June of 2026.

Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, August 6, 2026, from 10-11 am with a funeral service to follow at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 West Albany Street.  Burial with Military Honors will be held in St. Peter Cemetery after the service.   Arrangements are under the caring guidance of Nelson Funeral Home.
