OSWEGO – Roy Perrone, 75, of Oswego, passed away on December 9, 2024.
Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late Myrtle (Dawson) Peronne.
Roy was a US Marine Veteran having served during Vietnam from 1970-72. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Oswego City D.P.W. for 31 years and retired in 2005. He also worked as a permit man for the Port Authority for 29 years.
Roy was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting and fishing, and taking trips to explore the Herkimer Diamond Mines. He also loved going to the Turning Stone and enjoyed his scratch-offs at the local Stewarts.
Roy is survived by his wife Wendy (Tremblay) Perrone, his daughter Anne (Michael) Fellows, three sons Roy Daniel (Jennifer) Perrone, Jon Perrone, and Michael Perrone, step-son Rilye Johnson, brother Jimmy (Janet) Peronne, sisters Annette (Tom) Loguidice, Jeanette Valkenburg, and Linda (Larry), seven grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Roy was predeceased by his brother Robert Peronne.
Family and friends are invited to call from 4-6 pm on Wednesday, December 18, 2024. A military service to follow at 6 pm, at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany St. Oswego.
