Samuel J. Battista

Born in Oswego Samuel was the son of the late Salvatore and Anna (DeSantis) Battista.

Sam honorably served in the US Air Force.  In 1959, he married the love of his life Anna Trenca.

Sam was a foreman at Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station and was also employed by Hammermill Paper Company and the Local Laborers #214. In his later years, he was employed by the Oswego City School District and the Oswego Country Club.

Sam was predeceased by his parents and siblings, his loving wife Anna in 2020, and his daughter, Gina Marie.

Sam is survived by his children Ann Marie (Joe) Ellis and Jean Battista, and his grandson Cody Michael (Estrella) Battista.

Calling hours will be held 9:45am to 10:45am, Friday, October 4th at the Nelson Funeral Home. Following a Catholic Mass will be held at CTGS at St. Joseph’s Church at 11AM.

Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery.  Donations can be made in Sam’s name to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.   Arrangements are under the caring guidance of Nelson Funeral Home.
