OSWEGO – Sharon “Sherry” Stepien, 81, of Oswego, passed away unexpectedly on March 6, 2024.
Born in Oswego, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Jennie (Safranski) Stepien, and stepmother Louise Stepien.
Sherry worked as a chambermaid for her father’s Inn, Country Inn Motel, in Oswego for many years. She was a kind and unforgettable person. If you knew Sherry, you knew her. She was sweet, caring, and fun. Sherry loved her family and good friends and enjoyed spending time with them. She loved going to Bridie Manor and Cheap Seats with her friends to enjoy her glass of wine, laugh, dance, and test her luck with Quick Draw. Sherry also loved her brother’s dogs, his three rottweilers were her life.
Sherry is survived by her loving brother and his wife Steven and Brenda Bullard of Oswego. Steve and Brenda would like to extend a huge thank you to Sherry’s best friend Jean Mazzoli, her daily coffee mate Richard, and the manager of Pontiac Apartments, Julie. The friendships they had with Sherry were beautiful and the family appreciates them, and everyone at Pontiac who always kept an eye on her.
In addition to her parents, Sherry was preceded in death by her brother Gerald “Jerry” Stepien.
Friends and family are invited to call on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, from 3-5 pm with a service to follow at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 West Albany Street. Entombment will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, in the Mausoleum at St. Peter Cemetery.
