Shirley A. Murabito Bradshaw

OSWEGO – In Loving Memory, Shirley A. Murabito Bradshaw, 87, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, was the heart of her family and leaves behind a lifetime of love, laughter, and treasured memories. She passed away peacefully on August 31, 2026, with her family continuously by her side during her hospital stay at Upstate Community General Hospital.

Born in Lackawanna, Shirley was the daughter of the late Violet Netters Potter and Jack Potter. She was a proud graduate of Oswego Catholic High School. Shirley worked for many years at the pharmacy at Fays Drugs and Eckerd Drugs in Oswego. She was also a dedicated member of several community organizations, including the Red Hat Society and the Elks Club Women’s Auxiliary.

Shirley’s greatest joy was her family. As a mother, she gave her children unconditional love and unwavering support. As a grandmother, she brought warmth, laughter, and love that her grandchildren will carry with them throughout their lives. She had an ability to make those around her feel loved and cared for, and she loved nothing more than gathering the people she cared about and cooking a delicious meal. Her macaroni and cheese was legendary. Her home was often the place where everyone came together for holidays, celebrations, and special occasions.

Shirley had a warmth that was impossible to miss. She was fun-loving, vibrant, and often the life of the party. Her beautiful smile could light up a room, and her laughter drew people to her. Shirley made ordinary moments feel special.

She was adventurous as well. Shirley enjoyed many memorable “road trips” with her beloved friends and traveled extensively with her family both in the U.S. and abroad to Italy and France.

Shirley is survived by her daughter, Dr. Joanne Murabito (Dr. Jonathan Moray) of Waban, MA; her sons, John “Bito” Murabito (Paula Weigelt) of Oswego, Michael Murabito (Christine Reedy) of Liverpool, and Anthony “Tee” Murabito (Alexis Dowdle) of Oswego; and her six cherished grandchildren, Robert (Ashley) Moray, Ryan Moray, Madison Murabito, Olivia Murabito, Emma Murabito, and Nicolas Murabito. She also leaves behind her beloved great-granddaughter, Isla Moray; her sister, Sandra Pluff of Oswego; sisters-in-law Connie Murabito, Elaine Murabito, and Mary Brower; her friend Pam Murabito; and many nieces and nephews and other dear friends. She was predeceased by the father of her children, Anthony Murabito.

Family and friends are invited to call from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 West Albany Street, Oswego. A service will follow at the funeral home. Burial will be at St. Peter Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Shirley’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association or to a charity of your choice. Shirley spent much of her life giving back to others and volunteering in her community, committed to helping make the world a better place.

She will be forever loved, forever missed, and forever in our hearts.
