OSWEGO – Suzanne “Sue” B. Godfrey, 78, of Oswego, passed away on January 1, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Oswego, she was the daughter of the late Jack Richard Barehan and Alice Loughrey Smith.
Suzanne was a graduate of Oswego High School. She was a devoted wife and mother and a loving homemaker. Sue was also an animal lover. She had a passion for raising Arabian Horses and she also loved her dogs, especially Mindy. Family time was important and many memories were made while spending summers in Old Forge.
Suzanne is survived by her children Edward William Godfrey (Sharon Caley) Jr. of Lycoming, and Kelly Ann (Jeff) Metcalf of Baldwinsville. She also leaves behind her brother-in-law Donald Palmitesso, sister-in-law Linda Barehan, her beloved grandchildren Derick Godfrey and Wren Metcalf and several loved nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Suzanne was preceded in death by her husband Dean Godfrey Jr., her brothers Thomas Barehan and David Metcalf, and her sister Sally Palmitesso.
In following Suzanne’s wishes there will be no services. A burial in Minetto Cemetery will be held at the family’s convenience.
