William F. Moore

OSWEGO – William F. Moore, 85, of Minetto NY, passed away on May 8, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Honeoye Falls NY, he was the son of the late Frederick and Nettie (Freeman) Moore.

After graduating from high school, Bill served in the United States Air Force from 1957-1961.  He earned his Associate’s Degree in Transportation Management from RIT in 1971.  Bill was employed as a Transportation Manager at Alcan, in Oswego NY.  He retired in 2002, after 25 years of employment.

A loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, Bill was the ultimate family man.  For him, family was everything.  He also loved life on the water.  After retirement, Bill and Shirley purchased their cottage in Fair Haven NY. It soon became a beloved place for the entire family, where many lasting memories were made.  Bill also enjoyed golfing, boating, and eating dessert.  He was an Elks member for 48 years.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Shirley, their children William (Marguerite)Moore of Liverpool NY, John (Karen) Moore of Oswego NY, Catherine (Raymond) Casaletta of Oswego NY, and David (Maura) Moore of Cary NC.  He also leaves behind 8 beloved grandchildren Cody (Gina) Casaletta, Alex Moore, Cameron Casaletta, Kennedy Moore, Raymond Casaletta, Kristina Moore, Amelia Moore, and Kelan Moore, 2 great-grandchildren Louis Casaletta, Julia Casaletta, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held at 10 am on Monday, May 20, 2024, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Minetto NY.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Noon following the funeral mass at Colloca’s Winery in Fair Haven NY.
