OSWEGO, NY – Anthony J. Osetek, 61, a resident of Town of Oswego, passed away Tuesday October 22, 2013.
Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late John J. and Nellie T. (Lupa) Osetek.
Anthony retired after 33 years as an Oswego fireman and more recently worked as an Oswego City school bus driver.
Tony was a dedicated Oswego firefighter and was a long-time member of the Oswego Speedway safety crew.
He was the first Oswego native to be a Hall of Fame Car Owner and spent a lot of his time with the safety crew and working on Supers at the Oswego Speedway.
Surviving are his wife, Susan (Kranze) Osetek; one daughter, Stephanie (John Russell) Osetek of Newark; two sons, Brian Osetek of Oswego and Christopher (Erin) Osetek of Charlotte, NC; two brothers, John Osetek of Providence, RI and Paul (Patricia) Osetek of Oswego; one sister, Denise Osetek of Oswego; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held 10 a.m. Monday at St. Stephen’s Church, Oswego.
Calling hours will be from 2-5 p.m. Sunday at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany St., Oswego.
