Bradford J. Thompson, 60

OSWEGO, NY – Bradford J. Thompson, 60, a resident of Mitchell Street in Oswego, passed away Monday September 23, 2013, at Oswego Hospital.

Brad was born in Oswego, the son of the late Murray and Audrey (Daniels) Thompson.

He was a life resident.

He had been employed as a boilermaker on many area projects and was a member of Boilermakers Local #175.

At one time, he had been very involved as a trainer in the sport of harness racing. He trained horses that raced at many area tracks, including Vernon Downs, Batavia Downs, The Buffalo Raceway and the Oswego County Fair.

Brad loved animals, especially his 10 grand-dogs.

He also enjoyed dirt-modified auto racing, and motocross racing.

He is survived by his wife, Lori Meader of Oswego; three sons, Joseph (Misty) Thompson of Iowa, Justin (Danielle) Thompson of Oswego and Zachary Thompson of Oswego; a daughter, Heather (Rick) Hutchinson of Iowa; two brothers, Alexander (Cheri) Thompson and Lynn (Stephanie) Thompson, both of Oswego; four grandsons; two granddaughters; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home.

Calling hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, prior to the service, at the funeral home, 112 E. Second St., Oswego.
