Carolyn T. Matzke, 94

PHOENIX, NY – Carolyn  T. Matzke, 94, of Phoenix, NY, passed away on Saturday Feb. 23, 2013.

Born in Gouverneur, NY, to her late parents, Vera (Briggs) and Frank Thoman on July 14, 1918.

She was a secretary for The Radiological Society of N. A., Syracuse, NY.

Carolyn was a parishioner of St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, Phoenix, and active in its
Rosary Society.

Carolyn enjoyed travelling, and was a loving wife and mother.

She was predeceased by her husband, Otto  K. Matzke Sr., on Aug. 27, 2006; a grandson, Peter Matzke; three brothers; one sister.

Surviving are her sons, Otto K. Matzke Jr. of Phoenix, William A. (Judy) Matzke of
Whispering Pines, NC, and Robert F. (Dennis) Matzke of Matthews, NC; one daughter, Marilyn M. (Frank) Stephens of Denver, Colo.; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren (plus one on the way); several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Church mass only on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Stephen’s Church, 469 Main St., Phoenix, with the Rev. Philip Brockmyre officiating.

Burial at a later date in Roosevelt Cemetery, Schroeppel.
