Catherine A. Deming, 98

OSWEGO, NY – Catherine A. Deming, 98, a resident of Bishops Commons in Oswego, passed away Tuesday May 7, 2013, at Seneca Hill Manor.

Mrs. Deming was born in Sterling, NY, the daughter of the late David and Amiee (Hall) Mahaney.

She was the wife of the late Richard Deming, who died in 2001.

She was a communicant of St. Paul’s Church.

The most important thing in her life was her family.

More than anything else, she loved spending time with her children and many grandchildren.

Her incredible strength and character will be remembered by all who knew her.

She is survived by a son, George (Elaine) Gunther of Florida; a sister, Agnes Parker of Oswego; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Deming was predeceased by two daughters, Lois Terminella and Amy Clavelli; three sons, John Gunther, James Gunther and Jay Gunther; and five grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday in St. Paul’s Church.

Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, 112 E. Second St., Oswego.
