Catherine (Anne) Hutchinson

OSWEGO, NY – Catherine (Anne) Hutchinson was welcomed into the presence of her Lord Sunday October 13, 2013, surrounded by her loving family and gentle caring nurses.

She was the daughter of the late Nelson T. Hutchinson and Veda C. Williams and was predeceased by two childhood siblings, her sister, Rita, and brother, Andrew.

Surviving are her sisters Emily J.Coe of Scriba and Linda J. Rehbein of Cortland.

Nieces and nephews include Cynthia J. Crawley-Orr, Douglas L. and Bradley Coe, Elizabeth (Michael) Dunn, Kathy Gates and David (Sandra) Gates as well as several grand-nieces and grand-nephews and one great-great-nephew.

Upon completing business training at Central City Business Institute, Anne was employed by Sealright Co. for approximately 16 years, followed by 21 years as Scriba’s deputy town clerk / clerk to the town board.

Throughout her adult life, Anne was devoted to her church, teaching Sunday school, serving in various financial capacities, the American Baptist Women and most recently involved with the church’s food pantry.

She was also a member of the Eastern Stars.

Anne loved her Friday night dinners with the “posse” and loved to chat with friends and family about her beloved Yankees.

She possessed a quick mind, quick wit and sheer determination, a quality that served her well through her long physical battle.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at the United Baptist Church, 104 East, Scriba.

Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany St., Oswego.
