Charles T. Penfield, 86, a resident of East Sixth St. Oswego, passed away November 7, 2010 at the Oswego Hospital.

Born in Syracuse, NY, he was the son of the late Charles and Minnie (Tovey) Penfield.

Charles was a World War II US Army Veteran serving from 1943 to 1945. He was a recipient of the American Campaign Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, the World War II Victory Medal and the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal.

He was employed as an Electrician for SUNY Oswego from 1970 until his retirement in 1986.

He enjoyed gardening.

Surviving are a son, George (Linda Webster) Penfield of Oswego; a sister, Carol Bonnie of Florida; two grandchildren, Nicole Loomis and Andrew Penfield; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Betty Ruth (Smith) Penfield and a sister, Beatrice Decker.

Funeral Services will be held at 10a.m. Thursday at the Nelson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held 4-7pm. Wednesday at the Funeral Home, 11 West Albany St. Oswego.
