Charlotte G. (Beginski) Petersen, 57

Syracuse – Charlotte G. (Beginski) Petersen, 57, a resident of 322 West Ostrander Avenue in Syracuse, passed away Wednesday, at her home.

She was born in Oswego, the daughter of the late Albert and Charlotte (Andrews) Beginski.

For more than 20 years, Charlotte was employed as a nurse’s aide with the Ladies Home in Oswego.

She had lived in Syracuse for 18 years, but had always stayed close with her many family members and friends in Oswego.

Charlotte loved to play pinochle with her sisters and nieces. She was a lover of pets, especially her orange cat and her dog, Leroy.

In Syracuse, she was an active volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Petersen of Syracuse; a son, Andrew Baum of Syracuse; 3 step-daughters, Bridgette (Jerry) Seguin, Mary (Robert) Nearbin, and Holly Skinner; two sisters, Jessie Nearbin of Oswego, and Catherine Beginski of Oswego; 8 grandchildren; special nieces and nephew Connie Murphy, Caren Nearbin, Chris Nearbin and Guard Nearbin; an aunt, Mary Lee Andrews; a special friend and caregiver, Terri Kirby; and many other nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Charlotte was predeceased by a brother, Albert Beginski; a sister-in-law, Mary Beginski, and a brother-in-law, Robert Nearbin.

Funeral services will be private.

Burial will be in Rural Cemetery.

There will be no calling hours.
