OSWEGO, NY – David M. Kiernan, 85, of Oswego, died Monday August 15, 2016, at Morningstar Care Center.
Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late Edward and Gertrude (Lower) Kiernan.
He was a US Air Force veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.
He worked in the Water Department for the city of Oswego for 25 years retiring in 1991.
David enjoyed fishing, traveling and spending time with his family.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 268, VFW Post 5885 and Hibernians.
Surviving are his wife, Norma and son, Frank (Barbara) Brosch of Oswego; a brother, Richard (Rita) Kiernan and a sister, Leona McGuire, both of North Tonawanda, NY; two grandchildren, Frank Brosch and Meghan Reed; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Ted Kiernan, Pearl Gentile, Betty Coughlin, Gloria VanHise, Jerry Glasier and Ed Kiernan; and a grandson, Michael Brosch.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, at the Nelson Funeral Home.
Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home, 11 W. Albany St. Oswego.
