SCRIBA, NY – Doris M. Barton, 83, a resident of Nine Mile Point Road in the town of Scriba, died Sunday Aug. 22, 2010, at her home.
She was born in Oswego, the daughter of the late Herbert and Henrietta (Hammond) Hill.
She was the wife of the late Louis Barton, who died in 2009.
She is survived by five daughters, Lorraine King of Scriba, Gloria (James) Brown of San Antonio Texas, Sandra (Dick) Knowles of Florida, Bonnie (Ted) Buske of Oswego and Barbara (Tom) Ware of Scriba; two sons, Louis (Julie) Barton Jr. of Oswego and James (Monika) Barton of New Haven; 23 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son, Robert Barton, who died in 1975; a grandson, Robert King, who died in 2008; and all of her siblings.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home.
Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, 112 E. Second St., Oswego.
