Evelyn L. Harriger, 72

PHOENIX, NY – Evelyn  L. Harriger, 72, of Pennellville, passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center, Syracuse, on Friday Aug. 30, 2013.

She was born in the town of Volney to her late parents, Ruby Evangeline (Breasnahan) and Harold Duell on March 3, 1941.

Evelyn was a meat wrapper for Sam’s Club, Clay.

She enjoyed the traveling dart club, was an avid bowler and gardener, enjoyed camping, fishing and deer tracking, was an excellent pie maker and enjoyed spending quality time with her family.

She was predeceased by her son, William Meeks, in August 1977.

Surviving are her loving husband of 43 years, Joseph M. Harriger; her children, Robert Meeks (Jennie), Jerry (Melanie) Meeks, Beverly (Meeks) Badore (Kevin) and Joseph (Christin) Harriger; a brother, Jim (Lucy) Duell; a sister, Eleanor Hanson; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Allanson-Glanville-Tappan Funeral Home, 431 Main St., Phoenix.

A funeral service will be the next day on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Pennellville United Methodist Church, 389 County Route 54, Pennellville, NY.

Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, County Route 45 in the town of Volney. missing or outdated ad config
