Floyd Frederick Beauchene, 92

OSWEGO, NY – Floyd Frederick Beauchene “Shorty,” born August 21, 1922, in Oswego, NY, to Clara and Amos Beauchene, passed away on Tuesday August 12, 2014, in Mesa, Ariz., at the age of 92.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II on the USS PC574 during the attack on Pearl Harbor.

Floyd grew up in Oswego before moving to Syracuse, where he spent his career as an electrician with the IBEW Local Union #43, retiring in 1984.

Floyd enjoyed golfing and bowling and was the youth bowling coach for the Young American Bowling Alliance, through the Mesa Bowling Association.

He was also an officer at the Grand Lodge Order of Elks Northdale (North Syracuse) Lodge #2454.

Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters: Louise Swanger, Helen Lagoe and Geraldine Madden and two brothers: Gerald Beauchene and Donald “Beau” Beauchene.

He is survived by his three children: Sally Caruso, Sandra Beauchene and William Beauchene; his brother, David Beauchene; as well as his grandson, Gregory Caruso.

Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Riverside Cemetery.
