Frederick M. Teifke, 75

OSWEGO, NY – Frederick M. Teifke, 75, of Oswego, died on Friday January 11, 2013, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Syracuse, after a long courageous battle with heart and lung disease.

Fred was born in Oswego and was the son of the late Frederick and Lucy Cimpi Teifke and his life lead him to reside in many areas across the United States before returning to his native Oswego in 1991.

These included Brockport, NY, Atlanta Ga., Sylvania, Ohio, Hudson, Ohio, Dallas, Texas, and Corpus Christie, Texas.

Fred was a retired plant manager with Celanese America’s Corporation.

He graduated from St. Paul’s Academy, Oswego High School and SUNY Brockport.

One of Oswego High School’s most celebrated athletes, Fred held many scoring and
foul shooting records.

Fred is survived by his son, Frederick M. Teifke Jr. of Park City Utah; daughters,  Jennifer Teifke Allocco of Dallas, Texas and Alison Teifke Haupt of St. Luis Obispo, Calif.; four grandchildren; Madeline Rose Allocco and Christian Michael Allocco of Dallas, Texas and Harrison Michael Haupt and Lucy Rose Haupt of San Luis Obispo, Calif.

He is also survived by his sister, Patricia (Mark) Slosek; and his very special friends Gloria Reynolds and Sam Amedio.

Fred also enjoyed the company of several wonderful nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brother Thomas Teifke in 2006.

A memorial mass to celebrate Fred’s life will be held on 11 a.m. Friday June 28, 2013, at St. Paul’s Church.

Burial will be St. Peter’s Cemetery.

There are no calling hours.
